Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent. Associate degree preferred.
- Minimum three years work experience in the agriculture or forestry field within the last five years.
- Must possess a high degree of knowledge in all phases of agriculture and/or forestry.
- General knowledge of mechanical skills, general welding skills, basic electricity, and equipment maintenance skills required.
- Heavy equipment operation experience required, including Farming Operations.
- Hands-on technical background in the field.
- Evidence of potential ability in instruction. Prior teaching experience preferred.
- Show evidence of good character, organizational skills and mature attitude.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Provide individualized classroom and hands-on instruction to students to prepare them for employment in forestry and agriculture related fields.
- Assist in recruitment and job placement of students.
- Must be willing to remain current in the field by participating in professional development activities.
- Monitor, grade, and evaluate individual students’ progress.
- Maintain appropriate records and submit timely reports.
- Maintain good public relations with business and industry.
- Develop and maintain an active Advisory Board committee comprised of professionals within the fields of study.
- Possess the communication/computer skills necessary to be an effective instructor.
