About
The mission of the Building Construction Technology Program is to provide the student with the fundamentals of carpentry, residential electrical wiring, residential plumbing, and block and brick laying. Instruction methods include classroom lecture, audio-visuals, and extensive live work projects on actual construction projects. Construction workers perform tasks involving physical labor at construction sites and may operate hand and power tools of all types including air hammers, earth tampers, cement mixers, small mechanical hoists, surveying and measuring equipment and a variety of other equipment and instruments. The program is designed to teach adult and dual enrolled high school skills relating to residential electrical wiring, carpentry, and plumbing. In addition, a core craft skills section will include safety, math, tools, equipment, and employability skills.
