Emergency Medical Technology

About

The mission of the Emergency Medical Technology Program is to provide basic and advanced training for emergency medical care and transportation for critical and emergent patients who access the emergency medical system. Emergency Medical Technicians function as a part of a comprehensive Emergency Medical System response, under medical oversight. EMTs perform interventions with the basic equipment found on an ambulance. Emergency Medical Technicians respond to emergency calls, performing medical services and transporting patients. The Advanced course adds to the knowledge learned in the EMT course and includes IV administration, and other advanced skills the EMT cannot perform. The EMT Program can be completed in two trimesters.
